Belated Merry Christmas, Everyone!

I had a nice Christmas Eve (with the in-laws) and a quiet Christmas Day at home.  Hubby got me some great, yet simple, gifts.  Craft-wise, he got me four small diamond painting kits.  They are printed acrylics that you accent with the diamonds and the diamonds are round or teardrops.  Well, the kit I opened has the two shapes.  He also got me wooden Quilting Dice which look like they’re going to be fun and helpful.

Now for the progress I promised in the blog title:

I just finished the 5th page on my SSMC Farewell to Anger.  I’m now just over 5% finished.  Yep, it’s a big’un.  I really wanted to get this page done before January 1st as that’s when HAED releases the charts for the 2026 SAL.  I’m going to try for a complete finish of this SAL, so I didn’t want to be distracted by an incomplete page on an existing WIP—that would drive me nuts!  Since it was asked, I’m doing Glistening Wings (dragonflies) in the SAL.

Another small finish

 Hey!

I’ve had another small finish!  This is from The Sweetheart Tree and is called How Do I Love Thee.

I started on Grizz from Heaven and Earth Designs last night.  Hopefully, I can finish the first page (it’s not a full coverage pattern) before the HAED SAL 2026 starts.

Small Finish

 Hey Everyone!

I have a small, but lovely, finish!

This is Hearts & Roses band sampler from Cross Stitch & Needlework magazine, May 2007.  I had it finished a few days ago, minus the heart at the top.  I had to wait for my order from 123stitch to arrive; it got here today.  The charm is not specifically what the pattern called for, but it is close enough.

I had my smallest scroll frame (9” wide) empty once I took this off, so I am working on How Do I Love Thee from The Sweetheart Tree.  I have a bunch of their mini sampler patterns nd this is the first one I’m doing.

I also received the few threads that I needed for the HAED SAL 2026.  Well, I had all the threads, but these were the ones that were already allocated to other projects.

New Progress Pic

Hey Everyone!

For those in the US, I hope you had a great Thanksgiving! Hubby and I went to his nephew’s home out of state for overnight.  It was fun getting to be with his family. The holiday is why I didn’t post a WIP Wednesday update this week.

Apart from gifts for hubby, I’m ready for Christmas.  I’ve had all my decorations up since the 13th.  That includes all 5 of my Christmas trees.

I do have progress on a cross stitch piece:  Rapunzel.  I got some stitching time last night and finished a page!

I used my randomizer app (called Daily Decisions) to pick my next project.  It’s a new start called Hearts and Roses.  It’s a small band sampler from Cross-Stitch & Needlework magazine, May 2007.

I’ve also pulled most of the threads for the 2026 HAED SAL. I will be doing Glistening Wings (dragonflies).

WIP Wednesday +

 Hey!

I know I missed WIP Wednesday last week.  I didn’t have much progress on my new project, but I did finish the page on my SAL piece on Monday!

This gave me 6 full pages stitched which will earn me all the SAL charts from this year.

I switched projects and am working on Rapunzel again.  It’s nice to work on it again, plus it only uses 13 colors so less thinking required.

Oof, the photo does not do it justice.  I’ll try for a better pic next week.

WIP Wednesday

 Hey All!

I thought I’d try doing a weekly WIP Wednesday post.  Hopefully, I’ll stick with it—it’s meant to motivate me to post more.

This is Jelly World, one of the patterns in this year’s HAED SAL (there were twelve to choose from, I chose this one).  I’m currently on page 7.

A Few Finishes!

 Hey!

I finished my Sweet Pea Gazebo Sampler from The Victoria Sampler!  I finished it this past Friday but have felt a little under the weather, so I didn’t post about it until now.

I changed the poem ‘cause I’m not really fond of the “All things bright and beautiful” poem that was charted.  The poem I used is by Alfred Noyes and was perfect for this sampler.

The next project for my now empty scroll frame is Grizz from Heaven and Earth Designs.  First though, I’m back to working on my SAL piece Jelly World.

I have been working on crocheted snowflakes lately too.  Here are the ones I’ve finished including the starching.  I have at least 7 more that still need to be starched.

HAED SAL progress

 Hi!

I finished page six on Jelly World last night!  I’m really liking the looks of this pattern!  Can’t wait to finish it even though I can pretty much guarantee that I won’t get it done by the end of the year.

I’m taking a short break from it to work on my Sweet Pea Gazebo band sampler.

I finally did it!

Well, I finally did it.  I got my original pattern "Mother's Tree" listed for sale in my Etsy shop.  I have 2 versions:  one where you chart out your family names/dates and one where I chart all the names/dates for you.

HAED SAL progress

 Hey Everyone!

I just realized I hadn’t posted about this SAL since I said I’d be joining it.  Shame on me!

The 1st installment was given out on my birthday (Dec. 27) but I didn’t get to start it until a day or two later.

Just a few minutes ago, I finished the 2nd page of the 1st release (the 2nd set of pages came out a few days ago).

Here’s my progress so far:

This is Jelly World and I’m doing it on 28ct, 1x1 full crosses.  I have also added it to my progress bars on the right side of the blog.
