I ran out of beads! ugh! I’ve ordered them already so I can finish it once they get here. It needs about 20 more beads in the bottom border.</p><p><br /></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh5mBZJ3cexjh62UX74LmhyBK_TFScKn3HZEK_N4uB5jiV3ZpJbjKb91p0v0cy4HTlCrzBU502a5iTyQ6Ndo3yEbSoDxn3SucPHca4xHvtAes9ZuHGEUuBktjvhgDuvdvVo8-Iet29cZbVWcYCCb3Whuuk4jcu8OBFeP-phUXZH94UG-jj9BGuZzfa-fnc/s2657/IMG_0821.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2272" data-original-width="2657" height="274" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh5mBZJ3cexjh62UX74LmhyBK_TFScKn3HZEK_N4uB5jiV3ZpJbjKb91p0v0cy4HTlCrzBU502a5iTyQ6Ndo3yEbSoDxn3SucPHca4xHvtAes9ZuHGEUuBktjvhgDuvdvVo8-Iet29cZbVWcYCCb3Whuuk4jcu8OBFeP-phUXZH94UG-jj9BGuZzfa-fnc/s320/IMG_0821.jpeg" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br /></div><br /><p>As you can see, I’ve already “signed” the piece. If you’ve ever had to frog over 1 stitching on 32ct., you can understand how painful that was. I even managed to cut one of the fabric threads as I was ripping out stitches. I fixed it, and unless I use a magnifying glass, I can’t see it. For anyone who wants to try to spot it, it’s in the middle of the “a” in “Marie”.</p><p>As you can tell, I could have stitched a little more before rolling the scroll frame, but on the columns I stopped where I will repeat the stitching to extend the pattern downwards.</p><p>Happy Stitching! </p><p><i>Stacy</i></p>Unknownnoreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6598444690236486516.post-85145037416592786152024-02-22T12:33:00.000-08:002024-02-22T12:33:46.860-08:00Wedding Sampler progress<p> I’ve been making good progress on the TW Wedding Sampler that I’m stitching for mine & hubby’s anniversary. It will be 30 years in August which is the pearl anniversary. I think it’s appropriate that this has a bunch if cream colored beads on it. Based on how far along I am, I should be able to finish it, including framing, before our anniversary. Ideally, I want to enter it in our county fair in early August and have that be the first time he sees it. He takes great pride in all my craft endeavors and loves to see the ribbons I earn. Here’s the photo of my progress:</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjZKM-7Oka5uei0_EhnS2BURb_IuHdF0uNenZxI0IKSmmVeFJ73eddsRbNJQPIhzSmlNm5fmLoyPke2_UZFw3CwwuNzBpHzVxh_rirYED33CKsJ66jqlmRUtsBSuHub6-19fNSre02QD7F2F_hz-vTcnepVSFgfM-KMVJp4PZ9geKFST2WEBksdBsdque8/s2945/IMG_0816.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2267" data-original-width="2945" height="246" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjZKM-7Oka5uei0_EhnS2BURb_IuHdF0uNenZxI0IKSmmVeFJ73eddsRbNJQPIhzSmlNm5fmLoyPke2_UZFw3CwwuNzBpHzVxh_rirYED33CKsJ66jqlmRUtsBSuHub6-19fNSre02QD7F2F_hz-vTcnepVSFgfM-KMVJp4PZ9geKFST2WEBksdBsdque8/s320/IMG_0816.jpeg" width="320" /></a></div><br /><p>I did have to modify it from the original as both of our names were too long to fit without putting the surnames on a second line. That means I have to extend all the borders. Thankfully, I was able to spot that there is a repeat in the greenery/ribbon border so it’s not as difficult as I expected.</p><p>Happy Stitching!</p><p><i>Stacy</i></p>Unknownnoreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6598444690236486516.post-25558049485668993092024-01-28T19:29:00.000-08:002024-01-28T19:29:07.570-08:00Farewell to Anger progress Hey Everybody!

I’ve been watching <i>Get Organized with The Home Edit</i> on Netflix and it’s given me a few ideas I want to implement.</div><div><br /></div><div>I’ve also started a new project, with a deadline, so I’ll be working on Teresa Wentzler’s <i>The Wedding Sampler</i>. This one is for hubby and me as an anniversary present. I’m only 30 years late! I’m going to try to have it done before our county fair in early August so that the first time he sees it will be there (our anniversary is August 27). Keeping it hidden from him is going to be a little bit of a challenge, not a big one though. I’m stitching it 1x1, half stitches on 40ct. fabric. Life has a habit of getting in the way.</p><p>This finish is from a few months ago but I never posted about it. It's my version of a disappearing nine-patch. Mine's a bit more involved than most. I made it "disappear" 3x!</p><p>Here are my initial 9-patches. These were part of an online exchange. Not all of them were the correct size of 9½", so I found the smallest one and trimmed all the rest to match.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEg_eiRGbXCFdlup_T5W0uioeLm4HzLnA8lB1ZVJRKzLo34NWd_fs7rruyNLvzZ1G5b8AtVhyrTOvrtyJglyUoMfmEzxoVcsN4GCOctzLIIs04vvtCUvDZ3__sdb322phfGxwTuoFmhrZfnJcuxxWXuPeUuVurdwHpP8hXGqREleiMNxQSQpni5onPgX=s2766" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2370" data-original-width="2766" height="274" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEg_eiRGbXCFdlup_T5W0uioeLm4HzLnA8lB1ZVJRKzLo34NWd_fs7rruyNLvzZ1G5b8AtVhyrTOvrtyJglyUoMfmEzxoVcsN4GCOctzLIIs04vvtCUvDZ3__sdb322phfGxwTuoFmhrZfnJcuxxWXuPeUuVurdwHpP8hXGqREleiMNxQSQpni5onPgX=s320" width="320" /></a></div><br /><p>I needed more for a decent-sized lap quilt so I made 16 more for a total of 36. I then sliced them 1¾" from the edge on both sides, then across the top. This is the method <a href="https://youtu.be/r1yfP0WxloU" target="_blank">Teresa DownUnder</a> uses for her double-disappearing nine-patch (cutting width=half of the original individual squares). My initial squares were only 3½" inches, hers are 5". This is all of them after the cuts:</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEib1JDKf0H0Xi2qcywDiTDKGcm69Q8l_xNwklF2jw0HosutVCA1_bV8pxz4QHvdLN9JvTYfAcYt6kIbYo3dO_FdFwZF_obmxe5cCqCK9u0YMW2aDefVL1-vE_rly6S3j9BpKoNPW98hX6ZMFy6yFR9Aq8-ZGbAkWZ5L9OxrsGu6i1tGpFrKGqXA8nAq=s3438" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2280" data-original-width="3438" height="212" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEib1JDKf0H0Xi2qcywDiTDKGcm69Q8l_xNwklF2jw0HosutVCA1_bV8pxz4QHvdLN9JvTYfAcYt6kIbYo3dO_FdFwZF_obmxe5cCqCK9u0YMW2aDefVL1-vE_rly6S3j9BpKoNPW98hX6ZMFy6yFR9Aq8-ZGbAkWZ5L9OxrsGu6i1tGpFrKGqXA8nAq=s320" width="320" /></a></div><br /><p>I then swapped between two blocks. Block "A" and Block "B" received each other's cut-off edges, Block "C" and Block "D" the same, and so on (not necessarily in the order pictured). Following Teresa's method, I sewed the pieces back together then whacked the new blocks down the middle both ways. After spinning 2 of the sections (see the video link above), I <i style="font-weight: bold;">didn't </i>sew them together.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEhEy7Emi9asJT5cjmU5D2tHs38sKZ52gjOD4Mmeccp8xhm_ZZGEGiTZnWswJergtD0iuL8kfXp1LIGQAkr0RKhz_jvuH3i9pTNhyhDCrJhaxKfpYfZvtsGccBO3UszY5NqM9sPkwxhxSx__-w5D_57p4_3K7lOM83S_rE0tWDcXNjOamwG3EiPoGwCO=s3486" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2178" data-original-width="3486" height="200" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEhEy7Emi9asJT5cjmU5D2tHs38sKZ52gjOD4Mmeccp8xhm_ZZGEGiTZnWswJergtD0iuL8kfXp1LIGQAkr0RKhz_jvuH3i9pTNhyhDCrJhaxKfpYfZvtsGccBO3UszY5NqM9sPkwxhxSx__-w5D_57p4_3K7lOM83S_rE0tWDcXNjOamwG3EiPoGwCO=s320" width="320" /></a></div><br /><p>I chose to swap the upper right and lower left corners from my new Block "A" and Block "B" then sew them together. The next post about it will be a finish!</p><p>When I was a bit over halfway done with this, I flipped it around and worked it from the top towards the center. I did this because it was getting hard for me to work on it on a flat table. </p><p>After I got to about 175 total rows done, I got to the point where I’d see a color that just had a few scattered spots left so I filled them in. Next thing I knew, I was working strictly by color! At the moment, there are 5 colors left. Due to lack of business (a trophy shop relies on sports, gatherings, events, etc.), hubby's been a bit bored. I didn't really think it would be something he'd do, but I ordered a couple of diamond painting kits - one for each of us. However, I did keep in mind that I would probably end up doing the one I bought for him.</p><p>I got this one for hubby: <a href="https://homecraftology.com/products/american-flag-with-eagle-flying-diamond-paint-kit?_pos=5&_sid=055dd9219&_ss=r&variant=8905490169919" target="_blank">American Eagle</a></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0003/7745/4655/products/american-flag-with-eagle-flying-diamond-painting-kit-226381_2048x2048.jpg?v=1600177269" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="800" data-original-width="800" height="200" src="https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0003/7745/4655/products/american-flag-with-eagle-flying-diamond-painting-kit-226381_2048x2048.jpg?v=1600177269" width="200" /></a></div><br /><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p>I've already made a start on it 'cause he said he didn't have the dedication to do it. ;-) Here's my progress after about 2 hours:</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjiDj5clcRQSs40lwjZVUZM9FGBl53yKCrY2ZlGpdsvx-cJYQZ1i44ILBqkHercESKCR36NPI7zRUFonKewkCHGW6TgAu_0x8C1jb1j3g1KDAaFhgBp1UM5AzaGI6dPHkn0Te4YVmAR1io/s2048/BAC5DBF5-8A6C-4721-83B8-F8B9AC78138D.jpeg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1536" data-original-width="2048" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjiDj5clcRQSs40lwjZVUZM9FGBl53yKCrY2ZlGpdsvx-cJYQZ1i44ILBqkHercESKCR36NPI7zRUFonKewkCHGW6TgAu_0x8C1jb1j3g1KDAaFhgBp1UM5AzaGI6dPHkn0Te4YVmAR1io/s320/BAC5DBF5-8A6C-4721-83B8-F8B9AC78138D.jpeg" width="320" /></a></div><br /><p>Both kits use square diamonds. I'm starting from the bottom 'cause it seemed I would be less likely to come into contact with the sticky part of the canvas. I used a straight edge along the bottom edge so that I'd have a good, straight foundation for the rest of the diamonds.</p><p>I folded up the cover sheet to just above where I was working. I held it in place with a piece of scotch tape with the top end folded over so I could remove the tape when I was done for the day. Because I have a cat, I'm keeping it covered when I'm not working on it.</p><p>I got this one for myself: <a href="https://homecraftology.com/products/police-box-diamond-painting-kit" target="_blank">Police Box</a></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0003/7745/4655/products/doctor-who-tardis-poster-diamond-painting-kit-689498.jpg?v=1600177658" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="800" data-original-width="800" height="200" src="https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0003/7745/4655/products/doctor-who-tardis-poster-diamond-painting-kit-689498.jpg?v=1600177658" width="200" /></a></div><br /><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p>I figured I'd do "his" first so that I'll be motivated to finish it so I can do "mine". He's not a Whovian, so when I get mine done, I'll hang it in my room upstairs.</p><p>I have been enjoying working on the eagle picture. It's similar "construction" to cross stitch but faster to do. For me, it's a more mindless activity so I enjoy the break from thinking.</p><p>Happy Stitching!</p><p><i>Stacy</i></p>Unknownnoreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6598444690236486516.post-19051990103967606952021-03-26T11:39:00.001-07:002021-03-26T11:39:41.343-07:00Update on Rapunzel<p> Hello!</p><p>I've got an update on my <a href="https://heavenandearthdesigns.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=160_148&products_id=3962&zenid=b9a7305d3fc8540a5d8ea530dcc4968c" target="_blank">Rapunzel (Dawe)</a> from Heaven and Earth Designs!</p><p>Here is where I finished the other night:</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh6PWnV6qx_Gny7awF9cy4l-fNurMxvB31ITWNTI46zEFEovLHBIbsOVk1_uSTHFGfKz3uqWjq3Rh9Z17ZZdak68znBkzCNV0AXz8vQ1YVc3I7LhvN9zMMkJvqj3lsLcJIGJDv2d7xZAdY/s2048/E5886B52-2CF2-4997-BDB0-E64232167A73.jpeg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1536" data-original-width="2048" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh6PWnV6qx_Gny7awF9cy4l-fNurMxvB31ITWNTI46zEFEovLHBIbsOVk1_uSTHFGfKz3uqWjq3Rh9Z17ZZdak68znBkzCNV0AXz8vQ1YVc3I7LhvN9zMMkJvqj3lsLcJIGJDv2d7xZAdY/s320/E5886B52-2CF2-4997-BDB0-E64232167A73.jpeg" width="320" /></a></div><br /><p>The poor girl is in need of a wash but that will have to wait until I finish her.</p><p>I've updated the progress bar for her.</p><p>Happy Stitching!</p><p><i>Stacy</i></p>Unknownnoreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6598444690236486516.post-83684523095025145192021-03-26T11:32:00.003-07:002021-03-26T11:32:25.962-07:00Clean Craft Room!<p><i>Please know that if you purchase via any of the links in this post, I earn a small commission<b> at no cost to you</b>.</i></p><p>Hello Everyone!</p><p>I recently cleaned up my craft room. Woo hoo! While I’ve always liked my little room, now I LOVE it!</p><p>I took out about 10 boxes of "stuff" that I'll never use. I'm going to sell it at our local auction house.</p><p>There are still a few little "tweaks" I want to do, painting is one of them, but for the most part it's done. Gotta find my jar of spackle - it seems to have disappeared.</p><p>Here are some views of my room now.</p><p>The staircase, some storage, the quilt I'm hand-quilting:</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; It's not too late to join in! I just finished the first clue! Since I didn't finish last year's quilt until August of this year, I'm doing much better on this one.</p><p>Here are my first "sets":</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgpzEnmwF9J8SWChEoU5UuGY5nFaZv7GdHGySc6P6dPZtv9xUJ8BVZ9TSiX2wljRVlhNA0ywWEeEA-Wnvd0VQfntcQAaaGP70arLs-XKhybZI-XZQU8HpH-1HDbH9AALsVJ1c25odQx4Hs/s2048/97AB511F-BDA5-48E3-9CE4-E2CF38FCECC6.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1842" data-original-width="2048" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgpzEnmwF9J8SWChEoU5UuGY5nFaZv7GdHGySc6P6dPZtv9xUJ8BVZ9TSiX2wljRVlhNA0ywWEeEA-Wnvd0VQfntcQAaaGP70arLs-XKhybZI-XZQU8HpH-1HDbH9AALsVJ1c25odQx4Hs/s320/97AB511F-BDA5-48E3-9CE4-E2CF38FCECC6.jpeg" width="320" /></a></div><br /><p>I didn't really have any grays or golds in my stash so I did have to buy some for this. Well, I worked on him. Here he is "built" and finally clothed a bit:</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjldVjbV1YxfrtK-sLf9X-r0N4_kpfcuOiUaSHWkGxQO1w7nd2E-LbbHI7kMP6sUpPNLX2hC7lVTGJzRJZgYH3qwCcuVBxEcEpkzEjT5Cfen8ZHFF41keLcN6rkO4op5BHNcKwWO0GzP8A/s2048/DSCN2652.JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1587" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjldVjbV1YxfrtK-sLf9X-r0N4_kpfcuOiUaSHWkGxQO1w7nd2E-LbbHI7kMP6sUpPNLX2hC7lVTGJzRJZgYH3qwCcuVBxEcEpkzEjT5Cfen8ZHFF41keLcN6rkO4op5BHNcKwWO0GzP8A/s320/DSCN2652.JPG" /></a></div><br /><p>He's fairly large at 22" (55.88cm). The kit came with everything except the material for the gown and coat. I chose silver and purple, partially because the accent pieces would go with those colors and I didn't have a Santa dressed in purple in my collection.</p><p>Here is the completed Santa:</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhfs8NFimq_3_DJ6kqoRihzBlUN-Rf5PKaVQqocHhgQ-iCkIa536hDGsAZpHtxmexrnc2AVDxsBULw0ip646rh2Sga67Cs3KMdVjmrN0_lJ43Hzv6_8WyHyq7nKKWhHv0AL69yQjQSA-q4/s2048/DSCN2666.JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1498" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhfs8NFimq_3_DJ6kqoRihzBlUN-Rf5PKaVQqocHhgQ-iCkIa536hDGsAZpHtxmexrnc2AVDxsBULw0ip646rh2Sga67Cs3KMdVjmrN0_lJ43Hzv6_8WyHyq7nKKWhHv0AL69yQjQSA-q4/s320/DSCN2666.JPG" /></a></div><br /><p>Behind him, you can see a few of the other Santas in my collection. Ooh, a little more money for craft stuff!</i></p><p>Hello Everyone!</p><p>While 2020 has been a bad year in many ways, at least I'm getting projects done!</p><p>My most recent start <i>and</i> finish is called Spin City and it is a small wall quilt. The quilt measures 31" square.</p><p>I used (2) 5" charm packs from this fabric line:</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg4ok64GxajXfvrB1v5b0F0ub_pg1UdxNknBxlt2cOI1aARpd-mAeJcrskrK02hSPcjeWx5bt9Reuu95hjYiRWZnDZEq18bDwZeA2p765UnDhPINH6lnq9iIHm-WWtPVc2HFt8f6YK-dKM/s2903/DSCN2583.JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1083" data-original-width="2903" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg4ok64GxajXfvrB1v5b0F0ub_pg1UdxNknBxlt2cOI1aARpd-mAeJcrskrK02hSPcjeWx5bt9Reuu95hjYiRWZnDZEq18bDwZeA2p765UnDhPINH6lnq9iIHm-WWtPVc2HFt8f6YK-dKM/s320/DSCN2583.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><br /><p>This was the first time that I actually used any of my precut collections! I felt sort of guilty for even opening one up, so I chose one of my least favorite sets. ;-)</p><p>The binding (and backing) are a Moda marble fabric that I already had. The small inner border was just another fabric from my stash.</p><p>The pattern, Spin City, is from this book (Kindle and paperback versions):</p>

I wasn't too sure when I looked at the individual fabrics as quite a few of them aren't my normal style. It has a bit more of an Autumn vibe than the quilt I had hanging there. In a couple of weeks, it will get (temporarily) replaced by a small Santa quilt I have.</div><div><br /></div><div>Next project is going to be a Santa Claus kit I've had for awhile. It's an actual standing figure rather than a quilt or cross stitch project. I'm ashamed to say that I don't even know how many years I've had the kit! I did have to buy my own fabrics for the coat and gown.</div><div><br /></div><div>Happy Stitching!</div><div><br /></div><div><i>Stacy</i></div>Unknownnoreply@blogger.com2
