Farewell to Anger progress

Hey Everybody!

I just finished the 4th page on Farewell to Anger SSMC from HAED.

That’s 30,000+ stitches done…so many more to go!

Next up, I’m going to do some tidying in my craft room.  I’ve been watching Get Organized with The Home Edit on Netflix and it’s given me a few ideas I want to implement.

I’ve also started a new project, with a deadline, so I’ll be working on Teresa Wentzler’s The Wedding Sampler.  This one is for hubby and me as an anniversary present.  I’m only 30 years late!  I’m going to try to have it done before our county fair in early August so that the first time he sees it will be there (our anniversary is August 27).  Keeping it hidden from him is going to be a little bit of a challenge, not a big one though.  Wish me luck!

Happy Stitching!

Farewell to Anger update

Hi Everyone!

I finished the third page on my SSMC Farewell to Anger a couple of days ago.  I'm stitching this 1x1, half stitches on 40ct. fabric.

I skipped using my randomizer this once because I have a project on a different brand of scroll frames (that I'm not thrilled with, but that's just me so I won't be naming them) and I want to get it out of the way.  That makes my current project Night Train II by Elizabeth Spurlock.  It's apparently out-of-print, but I've seen it on Ebay and Etsy for those interested.

Happy Stitching!

Farewell to Anger update

I finished the 2nd page on SSMC Farewell to Anger just a few minutes ago.  I’m stitching it 1x1, half stitches on 40ct. fabric.  The chart has 99 pages, so I’ve barely made a dent.

Since this is the largest project I have, I’ve decided to make this my focus piece rather than God Speed.  I’ll still work on that one but randomly.

I used a randomizer app to choose my next project: The Sistine Chapel.

Happy Stitching!

New start progress pic!

I started a new project!  I had my largest scroll frame open after I finished La Belle Dame Sans Merci so I chose something that would make the best use of the size:  Supersized Farewell to Anger MC from HAED.

Before you ask, yes, I am crazy.  Oh wait, you want to know what Supersized and MC mean?  Okay.  Supersized means that the longest side, in this case the top/bottom, is maxed out at 999 stitches.  The overall size is 999 x 660 for a total of 659,340 stitches.

MC stands for Max Colors (or Colours for my UK readers).  On this chart the MC means 240 colors are used.  See, I told you I was crazy!

It gets better (or worse)!  In order to fit this on my 30" (76.2cm) scroll frame, I did the calculations and figured out I need to stitch it on 40ct. to get it to fit without stitching it sideways.  Yes, I've done that before and it's not hard, but I did want to keep the finished size manageable so I wouldn't have to spend a fortune on framing.

Sunday night, I finished the first page!  Only 90 more to go!

I meant to put a coin on the fabric for a size reference but I forgot to grab one.  The stitched area is 2" (50.8cm) wide x 2.45" (6.22cm) high which is smaller than a standard sized business card.

I should mention that I'm doing this in half stitches with one strand because, after all, it is 40ct.  I did start out doing full crosses but I found it too hard to see where the missing stitches were so I restarted in half stitches.

Since I finished this page, that means next up in my rotation is God Speed.

Happy Stitching!
