New Year SAL

Ok, everyone.  Hope those in the US had a great Thanksgiving!  I know that I ate too much but had a good time with my family.

I'm going to propose a unique stitch along for the coming year (apart from the Mystery Band Sampler SAL).

For those of you who do, or are planning to do, a HAP (huge a** project), let's make an attempt at one HAP finish this year.  Yes, I know, I've never seen the acronym HAP before either.  I just made it up.  ;-)

My definition of a HAP is this:  the smallest dimension of the stitch count is 300.  Did I mention huge?

Currently, I am working on 4 HAPs and planning on starting another one.  They are:
All of these, except Floral Finesse, are already in progress.  I'd really like to finish one...more would be better.

Apart from the project being a HAP, I'd like the only other criteria to be it has to be less than 50% completed as of January 1, 2015.

To participate:
  • Post on your blog that you are doing it.
  • Post in the comments here that you are doing it (so I know who to look in on)
  • Post on your blog, a picture of your HAP(s) as of January 1, 2015.
  • Link back to this post as the home of the SAL.
  • Do an update the first of every month on your progress of your HAP(s).
All the participants will be entered into a drawing to be held on December 10, 2015.  Those who post every month Jan-Dec 2015 will be given one additional entry.  Those who also complete a HAP, will be given one additional entry for each completion.  No, I'm not going to tell you what the drawing is for, but it will be stitching-related.

As of January 6, 2015, this SAL is closed...at least in regards to the drawing at the end of the year.

Happy Stitching!

Stacy

Well, I'd love to join, but I'm only just planning to start my first HAP in January, and I don't see any way to finish it by the end of the year...but I'm looking forward to seeing your posts, and the others that do join!

While a finish would be great, I'm just hoping to make noticeable progress on them. The goal of this SAL is to encourage each other.

My largest pieces currently are only 200 Wide! Luckily I have one month to find something that will qualify :D

I would like to participate! I currently have 2 HAPs started! I don't think I'll get a finish, though, but I'll get some progress.

Well in that case, I think I shall be in with my new start; and set myself a reasonable goal I can (hopefully) accomplish :)

What a great idea! I'm a recent follower of your blog. I'll definitely be joining in.

You know, I think I've lost my mind. I already have a list of projects for next year...but I am now looking at my HAPs wondering if I can start one (don't have one currently in progress) just to /try/. I think it's winteritis.

Hahaha this is perfect - all my projects seem to fit this category!

This sounds like fun. I think I might try and get Bridge of Wings finished, I'm pretty sure I don't have 50% complete but will double check. It's 350x480.

Like Leonore, I'm diving into my first HAP, I think my sanity took a vacation when I bought the chart ;) 450 x 677! I think I'm going to need all the encouragement and motivation I can get, that being said count me in please ")

This will be my first cross-stitch HAP, much less a stitch-a-long. Still have to pick up some materials, but I can't wait to get started!

Since it's okay to just travel along for encouragement, I'm officially in. I'll be starting Cheshire, my first ever HAED, and I literally cannot stitch it in one year especially given my other stitchy plans, but I would LIKE to get 1/3 done.......1/4 is probably far more likely.

I'm in with Faery Tales

Just found your blog through Leonore's. If it isn't too late to join, I'd love to. I am still gridding Shakespearean Fantasy but hope to finish that today (should get credit for stitching a small to medium project just for the gridding!!!) and actually start stitching.

I would like to join in also, if it is not too late. I have 5 or 6 HAED WIP's that I will be stitching on this year.
Love your work!!
