I got my QS Dragonflies framed last night! Thankfully, I got it done in time to enter in my county fair. I drop them off on Sunday.
Once I get this and my Mother's Tree back from the fair, I'll post how I did.
Happy Stitching!

Hummingbird and Dragonflies
Carla requested a post with QS Hummingbird and QS Dragonflies side-by-side.
Here you go!
For both of these, I used hand-dyed fabrics. Both are also 28ct. The hummingbird is on a Silkweaver fabric called Spring something-or-other. I really don't remember the name. The dragonflies are on Picture This Plus's Monet which I purchased from 123stitch.
Happy Stitching!

WIP Photo and Finish!
I have a WIP photo of my QS Dragonflies. I don't know why, but every time that I type that, I start out typing it as Hummingbird instead of Dragonflies. I did the Hummingbird a couple of years ago and apparently, it's still branded on my brain!
Anyway, here was my progess on the Dragonflies as of 12 Feb 2016:
This is through page 7 of 9. Well, I decided to really concentrate on it and I finished it last night!
Whew! That makes my 4th HAED finish. Two of them are Quick Stitches (QS), one was an SAL piece from the HAED BB and the other was Twilight Repose.
Oh, now I have a set of scroll frames that are empty. Guess that means a new start is coming!
Happy Stitching!

Dragonflies WIP update
Hey All!
A few days ago, I had another page finish on my QS Dragonflies. That means that I've finished the first 6 of 9 pages. The bottom row of pages aren't full pages either, so I'm getting close to a finish!
Here it is so far:
The details: 28ct. Monet's Garden from PTP (ordered from 123stitch), stitched 1x1.
Happy Stitching!

This and That with Photos!
Hello Fellow Stitchers!
If you're like me, photos of stitchy stuff are almost as good as the actual thing. Not quite, but close. ;-)
First off, I forgot (hangs head in shame) to post my last page finish on QS Dragonflies. This is page 4 done. The fabric is from Picture This Plus and I purchased it from 123stitch.com.
Once I started on page 5, I realized I was one row too low on most of page 4. In order to get everything to line up properly, I'm adding a row of stitches as I go. As least I'm not frogging!
Next up, the pretties that arrived in today's mail from 123stitch.com:
The bunch on the right is part of what I need for an autumn-themed project in the future. I figured I'd start buying a few each time I place an order. That way my Paypal account isn't screaming.
The colors on the left are for a project of my own design. These are all Gentle Art Sampler Threads (GAST). There are 2 Forest Glade, 1 Acorn (brown), and 7 Weathered Barn. The WB was a bit darker than I thought it was going to be but looking at it, I think it's going to be perfect! No, I'm not telling what it's going to be. No, there won't be any progress photos. This is for a pattern that hopefully, I'm going to eventually offer for sale so no previews apart from the threads.
Last, but not least, is a photo of the cabinet where I store some of my supplies. I've redone the look of it after browsing ideas on Pinterest.
Here it is before:
...and here it is now:
The top drawer has miscellaneous "stuff"; second drawer is all my tools (hammer, pliers, etc.); third drawer holds my collection of Mill Hill beads; fourth drawer has stock size frames and mats; fifth drawer is the few cross stitch kits I own; long drawer is stuffed with crochet thread (bedspread/doily type). The door has been converted into a chalkboard. Behind it I have a shelf of my glues and paints and the rest is my floss and Kreinik collection.
The bouquet on top is my wedding flowers. So glad I opted for silk. After all these years (21 this month), they'd look awful if they'd been real.
Happy Stitching!

Dragonflies WIP update
Well, I finished another page (partial) on my QS Dragonflies! I've now completed the first 3 pages and the top row.
I've made a start on the 4th page already. If I'm lucky, I'll finish this in time for this round of the HAED Reward Program.
In other news, I've added a few books to my Etsy shop, XedStitches. I've also started switching the postage to calculated shipping. That means that I'll ship to almost anywhere in the world now! Unfortunately, postage from the US to anywhere else is expensive but hopefully, the exchange rate will be in your favor.
Happy Stitching!

HAP SAL July Update + other WIP
Hello Everyone!
It's hard to believe another month has gone by! Let's get right to the important stuff: progress photos!
First up will be La Belle Dame Sans Merci.
Here's my where I was in May and here's where I finished in June:
I've gone from 49.16% to 51.61%. I'm officially past the halfway mark!
You'll probably notice that my images now have the designer and order information on them. That was inspired by this blog post. It's an effort to show our support for the designers by proving we have legal patterns that we are working from.
I started working on one of my other HAPs, Floral Finesse from The Heart's Content:
I have no idea of the % I have done. I'll probably try to figure it out when I finish the area on the right of the fabric.
While it's not part of my HAPs, I did finish another page on my QS Dragonflies. That's 2 pages out of 12 now.
Happy Stitching!

2 HAED progress photos
Hey Everyone!
I never thought I'd say this but "It's too hot!". Well, not yet, it's still early in the day as I write this. I don't live on the beach, but I am near the coast. That means we don't really have seasons, just rainy and not-rainy. So when we do get warm weather, it's rare and usually brutally humid. Today's high is supposed to be 78°F (26°C) with 84% humidity. It's just supposed to get hotter through the weekend. Ugh!
The heat hasn't stopped me from stitching though! I've been working on 2 HAEDs at the same time. One of them is a QS (quick stitch) and only uses black so I can stitch on that during the day while I'm working. I don't consider it part of my "official rotation" because it's the only one I can work on during office hours.
Here is my first page finish on QS Dragonflies:
The fabric is 28ct. Cashel linen called Monet from Picture This Plus. I bought mine at 123stitch. I'm stitching this 1x1 (one strand of floss over one fabric thread).
In my rotation, my latest project was my focus piece La Belle Dame Sans Merci. Last night, I had another page finish! Woo hoo!
Next up in my rotation is Floral Finesse, finally! This is a new start so no progress photo...yet. I'll post one in a couple of days when I do my monthly HAP SAL progress report.
Happy Stitching!
