Well, since no one guessed correctly in the previous giveaway that I offered, I decided that I would do a giveaway that will have a definite winner!
I will give a Scottish tartan cross stitch pattern to a random winner. All you have to do is comment on this post to be entered. On August 31, I will use my randomizer app to select from all those who commented. The winner will get to choose which tartan they want and the style of the chart (full tartan, terrier, heart, etc.).
Happy Stitching!
Stacy
If you are the winner and you know that you have Scottish heritage but are not sure which tartan you want, I can research that for you. Most Scottish surnames do not have their own tartan.

I would love to win - Forbes it is, and I also have Douglas on my mom's side. I have traced on my moms side all the way back to Isabella Douglas leaving Scotland, and am still working on the Forbes part.
I would love to be entered!
Thanks!

I would love to be entered. If I win, I want the heart, and (and you'll have to do a little research on this) I want the tartan to be the tartan of the last Lord of Lovatt. He was the last person executed at Tower Hill. He was beheaded for supporting the 45 uprising. Oh, I hope I win!!!
Hi :) I have 2 comments actually.... the first is what a fabulous idea!! I researched this once, for a second, lol.... learned some history, did not find my tartan. The surname is Monroe (used to be spelled Munro) and I love the full tartan! What a great skill & fun giveaway ~ thanks so much!!! And for my 2nd comment, I just found this blog & just saw your prior giveaway, and correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't you give a list of like 10 numbers the skein #s could be...? and absolutely no one used those numbers??? That was a 1 in 10 (not exact with how many skein numbers you listed, but I'll call it 10) chance in winning if the partipicants used the numbers you gave.... or did I read that wrong? :) Either way... I'm glad there was no winner... helps my odds on this one!!! Woohooo! Thank you thank you thank you~ :)
Well, for the previous giveaway, the list of floss numbers did start with 20 options. After I dropped the options to 10, no one made a aecond guess.
As to the tartan cross stitch charts, I couldn't find a chart for my tartan (Armstrong), so I started researching tartans in general. On my dad's side of my family, I can claim kinship to over 70 different Scottish clans!
The cross stitch charts will always be available for sale on my personal website which is linked on the right side of this blog. The other link, Things Scottish, is one of my online stores. There are literally hundreds of thousands of items available there!
I'd love to be entered.
My husband is a proud Scot and a Wilson, a Wilson tartan chart (I love the lion one) would mean I'd actually be able to stitch something for him that he'd actually like and that would be a first!
I have some Scottish decent. Sutherland. =D Love to have the free pattern found your blog through facebook.
I would love to be entered!
Winning would be nice. I am Scottish and still live in Scotland. Although I hate my tartan, so if I won I would go for the one I managed to get my English hubby to wear on our wedding day. (which was a big deal for him, and his best man who is also English. Hehe) but they did look stunning
I would love to win this! I'm in the US but my best friend is from Scotland, so this would be an awesome gift for her! :-D

I'm a proud mum of a highland dancer so I would love to win. At the moment her kilt tartan is pride of Scotland, it's beautiful. She has a flora outfit and a white hornpipe. X
well i dnt have any scottish decendant but sound like it would be a nice thing to sttich
Ii am in the US and I don't know if there is any Scot in my background. My maiden name is Evans and my married name is Spencer. I do know on my father's side we are Dutch, German and American Indian and on my mother's side we are Canadian French. I love the look of the Tartans and would love to stitch one with colors of green and purple as they are my favorites. Thank you for the giveaway.
