I really enjoyed the quilting exhibit at our county fair this year. I went by myself, so got to take as much time as I wanted to really study the entries.
It's funny. I love looking at them and I'm intrigued by the process (especially crazy quilts) but I still have not broken out to do one on my own. I really enjoy working the the gals from church every week on our 'assembly line' quilts.
I think I have to big hang-ups about trying it on my own:
1. All those little PIECES. I know there's a method to the madness, but the idea of all those little pieces of fabric floating around my studio makes me feel panicy.
2. I already have so much needlework stash and fashion sewing stash that the idea of adding quilting stash to the mix makes me start to quib. Guess I'm not one who believes that she who dies with the most, wins. I had to clean out my mom's stash ...
