Finish It Up Challenge - another one done!

Hey Everyone!

I've finished another item on my FIU list!  I listed pretty much everything I had set aside for my Etsy shop, XedStitches!  All I can say is, "Whew!".

I listed:

  • 38 quilting patterns
  • 18 quilting magazines
  • 7 sewing patterns
  • 8 quilting books
  • 10 cross stitch magazines
  • 5 cross stitch leaflets
  • 6 cross stitch kits (including 2 Winnie the Pooh!)
  • 1 rescued finished cross stitch piece (Hinzeit Mini Blocks, Fishing - framed!)
I'm tired now but glad I got it done!

Happy Stitching!

New patterns in my Etsy shop!

I've just added 3 new patterns to my Etsy shop, XedStitches.  They are a Unicorn, a Scottish Terrier, or a Christmas stocking done in Scottish tartans!

As with all of my Scottish tartan cross stitch patterns, the cost is $10US per chart.  Since I email them, there are no shipping charges!

The unicorn pattern is 233w x 298h.  Here are examples shown in the Sinclair (red) and Watson (blue) tartans:

The Scottish Terrier pattern is 245w x 186h.  These examples are using the Borthwick (gray/red) and Buchanan (yellow) tartans.

The Christmas stocking pattern is 193w x 280h.  You have your choice of toe to the right (shown in Akins) or toe to the left (shown in Thain).

Here are the other styles of Scottish tartan charts I offer:

A map of Scotland, 247w x 318h (shown in the Dalrymple tartan):

A Celtic knot, 349w x 170h (shown in the Campbell tartan):

A heart, 214w x 197h (shown in the Armstrong tartan):

A rampant lion, 219w x 248h (shown in the Stewart mourning tartan):

A Celtic cross, 137w x 250h (shown in the Menzies black & red):

A thistle, 264w x 297h (shown in the Ogilvie tartan):

I also have Old English style individual letters available.  They range in width from 108 - 180 but are each 150 stitches high.  I refer to them as my Monogram patterns.  If you wanted the Campbell tartan, you would get the "C", MacDonald would get the "M", etc.

Of course, I also offer "full" tartan patterns.  These are all square but cover one repeat of the requested tartan (with a small handful of exceptions).  They range in size from about 80 stitches square to over 600 with most falling in the 160-300 range.

Major Destashing

I went through my impressive stash a couple of evenings ago and pulled out all the "stuff" that for one reason or another, I'll never get around to doing.

The resulting stack of books, magazines and patterns is about 1½ feet tall!  Even with all that removed, my stash is still impressive.  ;-)

For those of you who stitch for holidays, especially Christmas, the upcoming items for sale are for you!

I've already started creating the listings in my Etsy shop, XedStitches.  I'm going to enter all my items and then start them all together.  At the moment, I have 104 items listed.  I don't know if this destashing will put me up to 200, but we'll see.

Stay tuned and Happy Stitching!

Stacy

Update:  So far, I've got 26 magazines and patterns ready to list.  There are a few more of those and I haven't even started on the books!

Stash Clean Out!

Well, it wasn't one of my stitching New Year's resolutions, but I just did a major de-stashing (is that a word?) of my cross stitch stuff.  I probably didn't get rid of all that I should have but like Gollum, "It's my Precious!".

Anyway, 30 "Preciouses" have been listed in my Etsy Shop, XedStitches.  Hopefully, they'll all find new, loving homes!

Happy Stitching!

Online Needlework Show...

is now open! If you've never checked it out, you should. You can't buy from it but you are allowed to drool. It's a great resource for finding new designs/designers.

I'm headed over there now to see if there's anything I can't live without.  I will share any must haves here on my blog and possibly at my Pinterest boards as well.  (If you are on Pinterest, you can find me as: stacy27c)

Here's where you find the Needlework Show.

2008 Stitching Challenges

Happy New Year!
Here are my particular stitching challenges for 2008.
On one of the cross stitch e-mail lists that I belong to (2MuchXS) there is a challenge every year to start at least one project on January 1. That's the whole challenge - start on Jan. 1.
I didn't participate in 2007, so I thought I'd do it this year. My challenge piece is Night Train by Elizabeth Spurlock. I purchased the pattern for this at PatternsOnline.com.
Here's what the finished piece will look like:

I have several U.F.O.s (Un-Finished Objects) that I hope to complete in 2008. The main ones that I hope to finish this year are:
Heirloom Christmas Sampler by Victoria Sampler (still working on the tree at the top)
12 Days of Christmas by Teresa Wentzler (half way through Day 2)
Wild Menagerie by Cross My Heart. (working on the tiger)
