Diamond Painting

No links in this post are affiliate links, they are just informational.

Hi Everyone!

I decided to jump on the diamond painting bandwagon.  Due to lack of business (a trophy shop relies on sports, gatherings, events, etc.), hubby's been a bit bored.  I didn't really think it would be something he'd do, but I ordered a couple of diamond painting kits - one for each of us.  However, I did keep in mind that I would probably end up doing the one I bought for him.

I got this one for hubby:  American Eagle

I've already made a start on it 'cause he said he didn't have the dedication to do it.  ;-)  Here's my progress after about 2 hours:

Both kits use square diamonds.  I'm starting from the bottom 'cause it seemed I would be less likely to come into contact with the sticky part of the canvas.  I used a straight edge along the bottom edge so that I'd have a good, straight foundation for the rest of the diamonds.

I folded up the cover sheet to just above where I was working.  I held it in place with a piece of scotch tape with the top end folded over so I could remove the tape when I was done for the day.  Because I have a cat, I'm keeping it covered when I'm not working on it.

I got this one for myself:  Police Box

I figured I'd do "his" first so that I'll be motivated to finish it so I can do "mine".  He's not a Whovian, so when I get mine done, I'll hang it in my room upstairs.

I have been enjoying working on the eagle picture.  It's similar "construction" to cross stitch but faster to do.  For me, it's a more mindless activity so I enjoy the break from thinking.

Update on Rapunzel

 Hello!

I've got an update on my Rapunzel (Dawe) from Heaven and Earth Designs!

Here is where I finished the other night:

The poor girl is in need of a wash but that will have to wait until I finish her.

I've updated the progress bar for her.

Clean Craft Room!

Please know that if you purchase via any of the links in this post, I earn a small commission at no cost to you.

Hello Everyone!

I recently cleaned up my craft room.  Woo hoo!  While I’ve always liked my little room, now I LOVE it!

I took out about 10 boxes of "stuff" that I'll never use.  I'm going to sell it at our local auction house.

There are still a few little "tweaks" I want to do, painting is one of them, but for the most part it's done.  Gotta find my jar of spackle - it seems to have disappeared.

Here are some views of my room now.

The staircase, some storage, the quilt I'm hand-quilting:

The staircase with the twinkle lights on, some wall quilts, my fair ribbons:

My cross stitch WIPs, quilting templates, and my Christmas strings quilt:

Looking up the staircase:

My quilt, cross stitch "station" (glider rocker and floor stand), papasan chair, and more storage:

More storage, my tv & dvd player, craft table, stuffed animal storage, and desk:

Some notes about the room:

The gray storage cubes are from Amazon.

The Grace EZ3 frame is from Amazon (Grace stopped manufacturing them).

The scroll frames and stands are from Artisan Design in Oklahoma.  I LOVE them!  I do not have an affiliate link with them.

Happy Stitching!
