2017 Finish It Up Challenge

This worked well last year, so I'm doing this challenge again this year.  If you want to participate, just add your blog address to the comments section of this post (you do need to be a "member" of this blog to comment - I was getting too many spammers).  Feel free to download the above image for use on your blog as well.

The items in your list can be anything as long as it's craft related.

Here's my list for 2017:
  • Put all my loose floss on bobbins
  • Stitch a design for the candlescreen that I have
  • Assemble my Happy Blocks quilt top
  • Assemble my Crumbs quilt top
  • Finish hand-quilting the Bullseye Quilt
  • Finish the Log Cabin Star wallhanging
  • Hand-quilt at least 10 blocks on my Christmas Strings quilt
  • Finish my Through the Storm cross stitch as a free-standing block
  • Finish my green Temari ball
  • Finish 1 of my Santa kits (not cross stitch)
  • Make bookcases for my sewing room
  • Decorate wooden "S" for my sewing room
As you can see, my quilting needs some attention!  Only 3 of these are cross stitch related.

I hope my progress helps motivate you to make progress on your lists.  Anyone who participates should try to do your updates on the 1st of each month.

I'll also be hosting the Christmas Stitching Challenge again this year.  The initial post will be up on the 15th of January!

Happy Stitching!

Finish It Up Challenge - My List

This challenge is not specifically cross stitch but it should have some crafting aspect.

If you are participating in this challenge, please post your blog address in the comments.  I'd love to see how you do!

I'm a few days early posting my list but I thought it might help others come up with ideas for their own lists.  I will finalize my list and post the complete one on January 1st.  I know there are more things I want to finish, but my brain is not co-operating at the moment.

  1. Bind my 4-patch quilt (poor thing's been waiting for over 2years)
  2. Remove last of carpet in sewing room (it's really in the way and is hampering my crafts)
  3. Finish my "Merry Christmas" framed set
  4. Tidy up all my quilting scraps
  5. Frame my Mother's Tree.
  6. Clean off my scrapbooking desk so I can actually scrapbook!  clean enough to work on 1-15-2016
  7. Finish the Disneyland scrapbook for my sister
  8.  List the rest of the items I have set aside to sell on Etsy.  finished on 1-7-2016
  9. Re-starch/shape the rest of my crocheted snowflakes.

Happy stitching!

Made progress on my 1001 list

Well during the long holiday weekend (Labor Day in the US), I made progress on my list.

I managed to cross off item 65 - Organize greeting cards and gift wrap.
I had no clue how many greeting cards I have!! They are all sorted by type (birthday, anniversary, etc.) now.

I also got to cross off #80 - Organize print photos.
They are in envelopes grouped by vacation, people, etc. The negatives are not stored with the prints - they are stored in a fire-proof box. Some of the negatives have also been converted to digital files and the files are stored somewhere other than my p.c.

I've also started on item #41 - Make a scrapbook of our trips to Las Vegas. This was much easier to do now that I have my prints and digital photos organized!! I had to order actual prints of quite a few of my digital photos so that I could complete my Vegas scrapbook. I got them online through Snapfish. If you are interested, they only cost me 10¢ per print + shipping (cause I bought a prepaid package).

Happy Stitching!!
