Cool Video

This is a very cool video. If this doesn't make you smile (or possibly cry) then nothing will.

Today's Weather pic

For those who don't know, I live on the coast of Washington state. It does snow here occasionally but not frequently - until this winter! When we do have snow, it's usually in December. The picture above was taken this morning looking out into my backyard. As I write this, it is still snowing with no sign of stopping!

Flight of Freedom update

Here's a pic of my progress on Flight of Freedom - it is a Dimensions kit.

I've been working on the area shown for the last 3 weeks but I only get to stitch a couple of nights a week. Since I bowl Monday and Tuesday nights, that takes away from my stitching time.
Happy Stitching!

Great Bowling Season

While my average is down a couple of pins from previous years, I am still having a great bowling season!

Last November, I picked up the Big 4 Split!!

This past Tuesday night, I bowled my first 600 series!! I bowled a 214, 189 and 213 to total 616!! The 213 game was also a clean game (no open frames).

Considering that on Monday night I had a 519 series (over my average as well), it's been a good bowling week!

Bowling Glory!

As I'm writing this, it is about 6 hours since I accomplished this feat and I'm still in shock!!

What did I do? I converted the Big 4 Split!! I've never seen anyone do this before and now that I've done it, I can still say I've never seen it. I thought I had missed it so I wasn't watching!

For those of you who don't bowl, here's a bit of information. The standard setup for bowling pins looks like this:

After I threw my first ball, these are the pins that I had left:

I hit the 2 pins on the right, causing 1 of them to slide over to the left and hitting the back pin on the left which fell forward and knocked down the front, left pin.

Out of the 1.5 million achievement awards that the US Bowling Congress gave out last year, only 2,130 of them were for converting this split!! (source: USBowler magazine, winter08-09 issue) Now I get one of these awards too!!
