God Speed update

 Hey!

I just finished page 15 (partial page) on God Speed from Heaven and Earth Designs!

My next project is going to be a new one:  Secret Garden from Lesa Steele Designs.  It’s a band sampler in purples.  I’ve got a couple more new projects that will be getting added to my rotation as I have two more scroll frames that are empty.

Happy Stitching!

God Speed update

Hi!

I finished another page on God Speed from HAED!  I actually finished this on January 19, but hadn't bothered to write the blog post.

Here it is:

Next up in my rotation:  Mini Wings in Repose [retired].  Well, I need to get back to blogging more regularly.  I am back working on God Speed today because I finished my rotation on Mini Wings in Repose.  Update for that is in a separate post.

Both progress bars have been updated over there --->.

Happy Stitching!

God Speed progress

Hello Everyone!

Yesterday, I finished page 12 on God Speed from HAED!.  This girl has some really long hair and, boy, is she a carrot top!  ;-)

You can also see some of the other knights that are just outside the portcullis.  When I was stitching them, they just looked like dark blobs.  It's amazing how a few lighter stitches around the edges can bring something into focus!

Next project chosen by my randomizer app:  Sistine Chapel.  It's been awhile since I've worked on this one.  I will be working on page 7.

God Speed progress

Woo hoo!  Last night, I finished another page on God Speed from HAED!  The page I finished was page 11 of 30.  Here is my progress so far:

This is on 25ct., and I'm stitching 2x1 full crosses.

For my next project, my randomizer app chose:  SS Farewell to Anger MC.  Since this is a new start and it was fairly late when I finished the page on God Speed, I only managed to get my fabric onto the scroll rods and about a dozen stitches in before I had to call it a night.

God Speed progress

I haven't felt like stitching much lately.  I've got a stuck kidney stone.  Thankfully, I'm not in pain (pain comes when it moves), but I'm bloated, queasy, and just plain blech.  I do have a CT scan this afternoon.  Even though I've had 5 bouts of stones before the medical establishment needs "photographic proof" before they will do anything (sigh).

Most evenings, I can't wait to get into my sewing room.  The past few weeks, I've only felt up to it if I could spend the whole day there - so that the effort of tackling the stairs had a real reward.

Well, this weekend, I did manage to spend most of Saturday and Sunday stitching!  I also managed to finish a page (partial) on my focus piece, God Speed.  This completes the top 2 rows of pages!

Now that I've finished a page, it's time to rotate to another project.  My randomizer chose:  Rapunzel (Dawe).  Since this one only has 13 colors, I'm hoping a page won't take as long.

God Speed progress

Hello, Cross Stitch Land!

Ooh, wouldn't that be a fun place to live!

I finally finished a page on my God Speed from HAED.  It took me longer than normal because I have this perverse desire:  when it gets hot outside, I have the urge to make quilts.  I know, I know.  I'm nuts but at least I'll be warm during the Winter.

Here's my God Speed progress:

This completes the first 9 pages.  This is on 25ct., 2x1, full crosses*.

According to my randomizer app, my next project to work on is Floral Finesse.

* 2x1.  Anytime that you see this regarding cross stitch, the first number indicates the number of floss strands and the second number indicates how many fabric strands are being stitched over.

Happy Stitching!

WIP update

I know I've been "quiet" here on my blog lately.  Life seems to have a way of taking up time.  Nothing major, just little things here and there.

For instance, I would usually spend most of a Saturday afternoon/evening in my craft room.  Nope, last Saturday when we were expecting the "storm of the century", hubby and I headed south to Portland, OR for a trade show.  It was great to attend even a small, regional one finally.  We used to go to our annual convention in Las Vegas every year, but when the economy tanked in 2008, we didn't have the extra money to do it.

We got to look at the new machine we're planning on getting for our trophy shop and got to talk to a couple of suppliers so it was worth "braving the storm".  Since the storm was supposed to hit in the early afternoon, we made sure to get to Portland early so we could leave before the storm got to us.  BTW, the storm didn't make landfall here so we just got some significant rainfall:  3.04" (7.72cm).  We're used to that since we average over 65" (165.1cm) of rain a year.

Well, I finally got to do some stitching last night and I managed a page finish!  The piece in my rotation this time was God Speed.  Here's my progress photo:

...and we have a face!  Next time I work on this, I should be working on the top of the knight's helmet.

Now I'm back to my La Belle Dame...  I've already put in a few stitches on page 24 which is a partial page.  That means a row finish is coming in the near future!

I won't get much stitching done this weekend.  Hubby and I have a booth (indoors!) at the Fall Garage Sale in Chehalis, WA this coming Saturday.  If you're in Western Washington, come on by!  There are over 300 vendors inside the fairground buildings.

God Speed page finish!

Any time I get near to a page finish, I just can't seem to stop stitching.  Seriously!

Normally, I stop stitching between 10:30 - 11:00pm so that I don't stay up too late (as if that's a real "thing").  Last night, I was close to a page finish.  As in there were only 5 colors left to stitch and 2 of those only had a pair of stitches each.  I finally put my needle down at 11:55pm...with a page done!

Here's my progress picture:

She's got hair!  It's like a beacon in the lower corner.  Also, along the bottom, you can hopefully make out the start of two knights' helmets.

Next page is yet another ocean of black and her head.  No sign of "her" knight, yet.

Happy Stitching!

God Speed WIP photo

After finishing a page on La Belle Dame Sans Merci, the Random Master app (iOS) chose God Speed as my next project.

I just finished page 6 which is the leftmost page on the 2nd row - on the large print version anyway.  Why I have this one in large print is beyond me.  All my other HAED charts are regular print.  Because this one is large print, there are 5 full and 1 partial row of pages top to bottom.  That means I still have quite a bit to do!

Here's my latest progress photo.  The top edge of stitches are actually rolled up on the scroll frame so that's why the top isn't all there.

Since I've finished a page on this, that means it was time to switch back to my focus piece:  La Belle Dame.

Happy Stitching!
